I'm Jeff Beard. I lead engineering teams and spend a lot of my working hours on AI coding agents: how they change the way software gets built, what they cost to run, and how to keep them from doing stupid stuff. I write about that here, along with the occasional piece on leadership and whatever technology has my attention.
The rest of the time I'm on a bike or on a trail. Gravel races, the odd road race against people half my age, trail runs with my kids, and a standing date with the Old Man Winter rally every February. Those show up here as short notes with a photo.
